Your situation is probably similar to the one that Susan describes in the above post. The control board has been revised on this washer. Depending on your serial number, you may need a different control board. It is likely that you need part 6871ER1078T.
I recommend that you reply with the serial number of your board and we will research that part more thoroughly. It may also help to have the part number off of your original control board. See if you can find that part number if possible.Sorry for the trouble with this part. Some parts are revised by the manufacturer and the correct part can only be ordered by referring to the serial number.
I checked directly with our parts expert from LG. There are 2 versions of that washer model WM2277HW. The version WM2277HW00 uses control part 6871ER1003C and the version WM2277HW01 uses that control part number 6871ER1078T that you have. I recommend that you check the model number on your washer for a version or revision number.
It is likely that you will need the part 6871ER1003C since that 6871ER1078T does not appear to fit. I provided an image of the part 6871ER1003C below this response. That may help you determine whether it is the part that you need.
If you need more assistance, reply with additional details. A note for all readers who encounter this thread: The controls for this LG washer model WM2277HW has been revised during the production run. The washer model may have a revision number following the WM2277HW.

If you need to replace a main PCB control board and/or a user interface control panel, then I recommend that you send us the full model number and serial number of your washer so that we can help you order the correct replacement parts. That will help you avoid a situation where you have mis-matched control components. You could have a problem with that control board. Before replacing it, I recommend that you UNPLUG the washer and check the wiring connections between that main control board and the motor. The first image below shows the troubleshooting for that LE code and a basic wiring diagram for that type of washer. If you access the control board and see burnt circuitry, then that control board will apparently need to be replaced.
You may also need to check the drive motor and the hall sensor (motor speed sensor). I provided information on resistance checks for those components in the second image.
Be sure that you have the washer unplugged when accessing internal components and making those resistance checks. Make sure that the spin basket rotates relatively freely and it not bound up. If you find no problems with the motor and the hall sensor, then replacing the control board will probably fix your problem. If you need more help, let us know. Hello Cheryl. I checked with the manufacturer. For model WM2277HW and serial number 408KW03158, that main PCB control board appears to be part 6871ER1078T that you indicated in the above response.
I recommend that you recheck your model number and check the part number on that existing main PCB control board that is installed in the washer. Reply to this thread with additional details including the differences in the control boards. We will research this issue further once we receive more details. I checked directly with the manufacturer (LG) to get that part number 1078T for the control board in your model of washer. The Sears Parts listing for that washer may not be updated properly for that control board. It may work in certain versions of that washer but that is not the information that I obtained directly from LG.
The control board that Mike needed was the 1078T. If that 1003C does not work in your washer, you should be able to return it and get the correct control board. Let us know how this turns out. If you need help returning the control board if it does not work, let us know. That control board should have lasted more than 3 years.
I have a similar model of washer and it has the original control board in it that has lasted for 5 years. That being said, there is always a chance that a control board can fail at any time. The red LED light should be lit when the power button is pressed. I posted the troubleshooting that describes that red LED light in the images below. Follow electrical safety guidelines when using that data.

Families depend on their LG washing machines to keep everyone's clothes clean and smelling fresh, just as businesses rely on commercial versions of these machines to keep their linens in top-notch condition. When your washing machine doesn't drain, however, it puts a serious kink into your daily routine. Use these tips to troubleshoot when your washing machine retains water after the wash cycle ends. Check the Drain Hose If your LG washing machine's drain hose is kinked or clogged, water can't flow out when the wash cycle ends. Unplug your machine, disconnect the hose and ensure it's straight and clog-free. If these things aren't impeding drainage, check for a backup in your home's drain system, especially in drains sitting lower than the water level in the drain tub.
Replace the Water-Level Pressure Switch Designed to detect the water level in the wash tub, the water-level pressure switch may be the issue if your washing machine doesn't drain. If this component is defective, your washer doesn't fill properly, doesn't fill at all or overfills to the point of overflowing. If the water-level pressure switch isn't accurately detecting and controlling the water level, replace it with from Sears PartsDirect. Replace the Drain Pump During appropriate times during the wash cycle, the drain pump removes water from the machine. The bearings inside this component can seize up, its impeller blades can break and its seal can experience failure. A common symptom of a defective drain pump is a humming sound when the washer is full.
Before seeking or a replacement, clear the pump of debris, replace the seal, and fix any wiring failures. Sears PartsDirect stocks parts designed specifically to repair your LG washing machine.
